Renato returns to the scene that projected him into football
A good run at Guarani, this Sunday's opponent, gave the midfielder a promising start to his career.

Campinas (SP) - Now 32, Renato owes much of his football achievements to Guarani. And he knows it. Although he played for Marcílio Dias, Joinville, and União Barbarense early in his career, it was with Bugre that Flamengo's number 11 began to emerge on the national football scene, in the 2000-2001 season.
The success was immense, and from there he ended up moving to Corinthians, where he stayed for four years and won several titles before his first stint at Flamengo. Therefore, now that he's back in Campinas, Renato has fond memories.
"I have a huge affection for Guarani. It was the club that opened the doors for me, where I came into Brazilian football and where I left to go to Corinthians. It was a very good period for me," said the player.
Aware of the pressure that Flamengo will face when playing at Brinco de Ouro da Princesa and the fanaticism of the local fans, Renato predicts a difficult match this Sunday (29.08), but is betting on a victory.
"It's a team that, despite being relegated to the second division in recent years, has always been strong, traditional, has a beautiful stadium, loyal fans, and I know it's going to be a tough game for us. But we're going to go for the win," he added.
