After winning the second match in the Conmebol Libertadores, Flamengo turns its attention to the Campeonato Carioca. Before facing Volta Redonda, for the Taça Rio, the red-black squad trained on Friday afternoon (15), at Ninho do Urubu. Full-back Renê gave a press conference and spoke about the great moment he is experiencing with the Manto Sagrado.
"I think this moment I've been experiencing since the end of last year has a lot to do with the coach's confidence. My teammates trust me, but once the coach instills confidence, he's able to perform his role. I think I've been improving thanks to my teammates. The team is coming off a great performance, and when the team is doing well, everyone does well."
The number 6 took advantage of the conversation with journalists to analyze the work of coach Abel Braga and highlight the qualities of the squad.
"We've been working on this desire, concentration, and focus throughout the week. The coach really demands that we always focus on winning the ball back, doing everything we can to keep the ball at our feet. We know our team has a lot of quality, and if we can demonstrate this determination from start to finish, our technical quality will make all the difference."
Finally, Renê praised the quality of the red-black group and praised their competitiveness during training.
"Motivation... Just look around. Any mistake we make, and someone else will come in. The competitiveness in our group is very strong, it's already a motivation. The next game will always be the most important, regardless of whether it's Volta Redonda or any other team. If we don't win, the pressure will return. We have to keep our feet on the ground; we haven't achieved anything. It's just the beginning of the year, and we'll try to improve."
