After training held on Tuesday (07), Renê was presented as the newest reinforcement for the red-black team for the 2017 season in a press conference held in the Victorino Chermont Press Room, at Ninho do Urubu. Initially, president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello said a few words about the new signing, who has been linked to Mais Querido for four years.

"It's a pleasure to be here with you again to introduce another Mengão star, Renê. He's a player everyone knows, who has been very successful at Sport Recife over the years. It was a dream of our coaching staff that, fortunately, came true. I'm sure Renê will bring joy to our fans, will live up to everything we expect from him, and that he's coming to help us at left-back," said the president.

Football director Rodrigo Caetano revealed some details of the athlete's contract, which he signs with Mais Querido until 2021.

"The player's desire to come prevailed, and his representatives' understanding of Flamengo as an interesting sporting project prevailed," the director revealed, who then went on to discuss the details of the athlete's relationship with the Mais Querido. "I understand that the project Flamengo offered me is the best for me. It's a club that is preparing to fight for titles and has everything it needs to reach the finals of every championship. Who wouldn't want to be a Flamengo player? I'm realizing a dream," commented the new owner of the number 6 jersey, revealing that the dream of wearing the Sacred Mantle wasn't just his. "My mother told me that from now on she'll see me often, because Flamengo games are always broadcast in Piauí. It's another joy for her to be able to see me every weekend," he said.
