With an empty Maracanã, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Santa Fé this Wednesday (18). The Mais Querido created the best chances, but failed to score after conceding the equalizer in the first half. Leaving the stadium, full-back Renê lamented the bad luck in finishing off plays.

"We just couldn't put the ball in the net. We created a lot at the beginning of the game and had two or three chances, but unfortunately we only scored one goal. Due to a lapse in concentration, we conceded a goal on a counter-attack. We came back for the second half trying to score, we created chances, but there's no point in dwelling on it. Now it's time to work, see the mistakes and correct them for the next game," he commented.

Despite the unexpected result, the number 6 stressed that now is the time to stay calm and look to correct mistakes for the match in Colombia, which is scheduled to take place next Wednesday (25).

"We knew that a home win was very important to take a step towards qualification, but unfortunately we didn't have a very good night. We missed many chances. We knew they would play for one opportunity and unfortunately that opportunity came their way. They scored and defended well. Now we need to stay calm, work hard and wait for the away game, where we have everything we need to win."
