The debut at Ilha do Urubu was special for captain Réver. In the final play of the first half, the defender rose highest and scored a beautiful header, opening the scoring in Flamengo's 2-0 victory. After the match, played on Wednesday night (14), the player spoke to the press in the stadium's mixed zone.

"I'm very happy with the victory in today's game, especially for contributing with the goal and having a good performance. I hope it's the first of many this year, as I've gone a while without scoring. I'm doubly happy," said Réver.

The captain also spoke about the proximity to the fans provided by the stadium's structure, which allows for a unique experience of closeness between the Nation and the players of Mais Querido.

"It was a completely different feeling. The fans were there the whole time and were very close. This made our communication more difficult, but we managed to fix what we were missing in the other matches. So the debut at our new home, Ilha do Urubu, was very important. I hope that from today onwards it will be a different championship and that we can have a good run in the Brazilian Championship to fight at the top of the table," he analyzed.

Réver concluded by discussing the team's current form in the championship and how important the victory in the new stadium's debut was. "We knew there would be a lot of pressure in this game, not just from the fans, but from ourselves, the players, and the staff. If the same anxiety had been felt in our other matches in this debut at our new home, it would only have been worse. We managed to control our anxiety and really connected with Ilha do Urubu," concluded the captain.

Flamengo returns to the field against Fluminense, for the 8th round of the Brazilian Championship, next Sunday (18), at 16 pm, at Maracanã.
