With the red-and-blacks' preparations for the Rio de Janeiro State Championship final against Botafogo complete, captain Réver gave a press conference at Ninho do Urubu. Speaking about the Mais Querido's advantage in the draw, the defender stated that, regardless, the team will strive for victory.

"Our team won't go in looking for a draw. Here at Flamengo, we're not going in to draw, we're going in to win. I hope we can impose our game and get a good result to reach the Carioca final," he commented.

This criterion led to coach Carpegiani's team being eliminated by Fluminense in the Rio Cup semifinal after a 1-1 draw. Regarding the lessons learned by the group in the match, knowing how to deal with plays involving corners and fouls with balls thrown into the area was the main one, according to the number 15.

"I think the key point in the game that led to our elimination was a set piece goal. It's been a long time since the team considered the first team suffered from that. Fluminense used this weapon well, a team with a lot of stature. I hope that tomorrow we can pay attention to every detail to come out with the qualification," Réver predicted.

The team that will take to the field was defined by the red-black commander during training that took place on the afternoon of this Tuesday (27). Réver analyzed the possibility of changes in the starting eleven, highlighting the tactical variations that can be made with a squad with options like the one the coach has at his disposal.

"I believe Carpegiani has the team in mind. He might make some changes during the match. They talked a lot about this last game, and I believe he has everything in mind. We had six days to train and see what he told us so we could go in with our best and achieve our current objective," he noted.

There will be many competitions this season. Réver, however, sees them all as important. At Mais Querido, the pressure is high, and the captain affirms that he will always strive to meet the expectations of the Red-Black Nation.

"We have to approach every match the same way, especially because we're at a big club. At Flamengo, we'll be held accountable in every game, so that's the mindset. We'll go into every match as if it were our last. We often hear things we don't like, and we have to absorb them and incorporate them into our work. We have to use criticism constructively. It won't interfere with our day-to-day operations, but we have to pay attention to every detail," he concluded.

This Wednesday (28), the ball will roll at Maracanã for the classic against Botafogo starting at 21:45 pm.
