Réver previews match against Santos: "We'll need to give our best"
Captain comments on team's performance in recent matches in a press conference; the red-and-black group begins preparations for the next match
By Matheus Oliveira - inAt the end of activities this Monday (31) at Ninho do Urubu, captain Réver appeared at the Victorino Chermont Press Room to give a press conference. After beating Santos and advancing to the semi-final stage of the Copa do Brasil, the reunion, this time for the Brazilian Championship, was the main topic addressed by the journalists present.
The defender outlined the match scenario, promising maximum effort in pursuit of a positive result at Pacaembu Stadium. "We know we need to give our best. We have another difficult game ahead, against Santos, a team we faced recently and know their qualities and strengths. So I hope we have a good night and can come away with the victory," he said.
Réver also commented on the importance of the victory in further boosting the squad's confidence for the challenges ahead. "Of course, if we win a big match like the one we have ahead of us, it will ultimately boost the group's morale," he noted, recalling the Mais Querido's strong performance in the last match. "We're coming off a very close game against Corinthians. We've been playing well, but we're missing the small details that will prevent us from winning. I hope that after this match against Corinthians, that little something extra will start to emerge and that these victories will start to come, so we can achieve our goal, which is to fight for the title," he added.
