Flamengo continues to prepare for the next challenge in the Brazilian Championship, and before training this Friday (2), defender Réver gave a press conference at Ninho do Urubu. The captain began the conversation with journalists by analyzing the duel against São Paulo, at 17 pm, on Sunday.

"The game against São Paulo is very important for us. We have a tough run of games ahead of us, and in the last match, we faced the league leaders in a crucial six-point game. This one will be no different. We're going there respecting São Paulo, but looking for the three points. That's our objective."

The Flamengo captain assured that the team has everything it needs to win all three points at Morumbi.

"Regardless of what happens in the Palmeiras game, we know what we have to do, especially since it's an away game. I believe we have the ability to go to São Paulo and get the three points. It's a derby, so it will be decided by the details. It will be a great game and we have everything to come away with the victory."

There are seven rounds left until the end of the Brazilian Championship, and Réver spoke about this crucial moment for all teams in the competition.

"The championship has reached a point where it becomes difficult to choose an opponent. We've been following the games and we know how difficult this Brazilian Championship is. Teams at the top are contenders for the title and are also eyeing Libertadores spots. We're doing well in these matches. We have seven games left and we have no margin for error. We've already made all the mistakes we could make. The only result we're thinking about is a victory against São Paulo, and then we'll think about Botafogo to continue pursuing this title."

Finally, the number 15 praised the São Paulo team, but assured that Flamengo is determined to seek three more points away from home in Série A.

"The situation is different from the first leg, when São Paulo came here and beat us. We've changed some players, and São Paulo's current form isn't what it was then. We know that once we want to win the title, we can't think about the opponent or the situation; we have to win. This game will be no different. We respect São Paulo; they're a team with a lot of tradition, but we're going to look for the three points we couldn't get at home."

Direct duel against Diego Souza

Diego (Souza) is a very high-quality player. One of the most difficult strikers to mark in Brazilian football. This shows the greatness of this game.

Changes with Dorival Júnior

I do believe that something has changed, and his influence is evident in how the team has been performing. It's not that everything was wrong with Maurício, but he refined some errors we were discussing, and it's had an effect. His style involves more aggressive ball possession. He asks us to be closer to the opponent's area because that's where the danger lies. In these games with him, we've scored many goals and conceded few. I hope we can continue like this.

Calmness during the games

What ultimately determined why we didn't get the victory was a bit of anxiety. That worked on us, and even with difficulties in the first half, we managed to score a goal and have a clear chance in five minutes. I'm not blaming anyone. Everyone wins and loses together. It's composure that defines the plays. But things will end up happening naturally, as they already have.
