Flamengo hosted the teams from Uncle Sam in matches valid for the second round of the 2008 State Futsal Championship, and won two of the three games they played.
The under-09 team, current Rio de Janeiro champion, won the match 5-1; the under-11 team won 4-1, and the under-13 team ended up losing 5-4. The next opponent for the red-black youth teams will be Mangueira, with whom they competed for the Carioca under-09 title in the first half of the year.
The under-15 and under-17 categories hosted the Combinado 5 de Julho teams and won both matches. The children's team won 3-2.
The children's team won by a landslide, 5-0, with Wallace standing out, scoring three times in the match.
The red-and-black team, current runner-up in the Rio de Janeiro state championship, showed that the addition of new reinforcements, including players who competed in the Campeonato Carioca, makes Flamengo one of the favorites to win the title. Their next opponent will be Canto do Rio, away from home.
The adult team traveled to Cabo Frio to face Drogaria do Povo and returned with a 5-1 victory. The red-and-black team made a strong debut in the competition and began its fight for the state title in its category. The next match will be against the Cabo Frio team, the current Rio de Janeiro champion.
