Celebrating, yes, but that was just the beginning. For right-back Rodinei, Flamengo should enjoy winning the Guanabara Cup, but also focus on the upcoming matches in the state championship, especially the Copa Libertadores, which begins on February 28th for the "Mais Querido" against River Plate at the Nilton Santos stadium. 

Rodinei came off the bench in the second half and changed Flamengo's approach to the final. He opened the game, and the Red-Blacks became much more offensive, which contributed to the two goals that led to the victory. Regarding this, the full-back said he simply wants to take advantage of the opportunities given by the coach and that this is the path for every player in the squad. 

"Since I arrived at Flamengo, we've known it's a very prominent team, and there's been a fierce battle for positions. I thank Paulo for the opportunity, but I need to keep working. Everyone who will have the opportunity knows that, but we need to work hard," said Rodinei after the game. 

The victory over Boavista guarantees the team's qualification for the final four of the State Championship, but not the final. Rodinei admits some frustration with the situation, but assures that Flamengo will not slow down its momentum in the Taça Rio, even having to combine it with the Libertadores. 

"Now it's time to celebrate, but we already have a game for the Rio Cup coming up. Then there's the Fla-Flu and the Libertadores. We're certainly disappointed not to be in the State final, but now it's time to think ahead. We started the year well and have a good chance of winning something. Last year we had a great team and we still do. But we want a more significant title," concluded the player. 

Flamengo returns to the field this Wednesday, at 19:30 pm, against Madureira, in the opening of the Taça Rio.
