In an interview with Lancenet, the left-back discussed the deal and expressed his joy at knowing he'll be wearing the red-and-black jersey for the next three years.

Rodrigo guarantees that this Tuesday will be forever in his career. The 26-year-old arrives at Gávea on a three-year contract. He secured his release from the German club he plays for, Wolfsburg. With the agreement, Flamengo now holds 20% of the player's economic rights, who spoke about the deal.

"It's one of the happiest days of my life. I'm returning to Brazil and to Brazil's Most Beloved. I'm very happy and I'll do everything I can to help Flamengo. It hasn't sunk in yet. I'll only fully understand when I get back. When people contacted me, the first image that came to mind was the game against Grêmio. I was with my wife, rooting for Flamengo to win the Brazilian championship. I watched the game from here. I was very happy with the interest, and when the invitation came, I didn't think twice. Flamengo is going to have a great year, with winning players," he said.
