Clube de Regatas do Flamengo officially announced, this Tuesday (13), the hiring of Rodrigo Caio as assistant coach of the permanent professional football committee. A recent idol of the Nação Rubro-Negra, the former defender begins a new stage of his career at the club, now outside the four lines, contributing directly to the preparation and development of the main team, adding a perspective of someone who was on the field until recently.

Rodrigo Caio's arrival is part of a strategic project by the Football Board, which seeks to integrate qualified professionals into the coaching staff, with a red-and-black identity and a history of achievements with the Manto Sagrado. The addition of a player who has made history at the club aims to strengthen the winning culture, part of Flamengo's DNA.

Between 2019 and 2023, Rodrigo Caio played 152 matches wearing the Flamengo shirt. During this period, he won two editions of the Conmebol Libertadores (2019 and 2022), two Brazilian Championships (2019 and 2020), a Copa do Brasil (2022), two Supercopas do Brasil (2020 and 2021), a Recopa Sudamericana (2020) and three Campeonato Carioca titles (2019, 2020 and 2021).

With his leadership skills, tactical knowledge, and strong connection to the club, Rodrigo Caio joins the professional squad at Ninho do Urubu. Besides bringing his knowledge and experience from his playing days, he also holds a License B from the CBF Academy Coaching Course.
