The grand final of the Conmebol Libertadores against River Plate in Lima, Peru is just around the corner. Essential to Flamengo's campaign in the international competition, defender Rodrigo Caio gave a press conference before training on Tuesday afternoon (19) at Ninho do Urubu. In conversation with journalists, the athlete spoke about the happiness of competing for a title of this magnitude. 

"I feel the pleasure of playing in a very big final. If you're afraid of losing, you'll never win, that's how I see it. It's about moving forward with a positive mindset, knowing that you're dedicated. I'm not afraid of anything; I'm very pleased to be part of this wonderful group of people who want to make their mark on the club. I have no reason to be afraid; we're happy with the moment and want to make history," he emphasizes.

Rodrigo Caio spoke about the team's preparation and said that family support is very important before a decisive game like this abroad.

"The first goal is to rest with my family, who are the people who strengthen us and support us in good times and bad. And also to train at our training center, with the people who are always with us. We train today, tomorrow, and Wednesday afternoon, we'll travel. These days will be important for honing the details so we arrive in Lima prepared," he emphasizes.
