Roger celebrates the goal scored

The midfielder came on in the second half, replacing Argentine Maxi, and scored his first goal for Flamengo, the 10-2 victory over Corinthians, putting the team in third place in the Brazilian Championship. The player couldn't hide his smile during training this afternoon.
- "It was a very important goal, especially because it was the winning goal. With the three points, we're in third place, and we're more in the running than ever."
The player made a point of remembering that Flamengo is a Club that grows a lot in the decisive moments of the competition.
"We're fully in the mix. Flamengo is a team that's just arriving, and that's why we're growing at this crucial moment in the competition. Our opponents are showing us much more respect."
For Sunday's match against Cruzeiro at Mineirão, the supporter knows that it will be a six-point game, as the teams are fighting for a place in the 2008 Libertadores. The player expects a packed stadium, but warns that Flamengo will not be intimidated by the pressure.
- "Flamengo is a big team, accustomed to pressure, which is why it's the biggest club in Brazil. We're ready for war, regardless of the stadium."
