Coach Rogério Lourenço appears to have already decided on Flamengo's starting lineup for Sunday's match (August 22.08) against Atlético-PR at Arena da Baixada. The Flamengo coach led a training session on Friday (August 20.08), the last activity before boarding for Curitiba, and selected the same team that started the tactical training session last Thursday (August 19.08). The big question was who would partner Ronaldo Angelim in defense, and it should be Jean.

With the best players in the squad available, not counting Deivid and Diogo, officially announced Thursday night as reinforcements for the red-and-black squad, Rogério selected the team he considers ideal for the moment. The starting lineup consisted of Marcelo Lomba, Leonardo Moura, Jean, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Correa, Willians, Renato, and Petkovic; Val Baiano and Leandro Amaral.

During the week, the coach tested several variations, all for specific situations that might arise during the game. Rogério worked on quick counterattacks and finishing, and also included three defenders in the team at one point during Thursday's tactical training session. However, the team expected to start is the same one that began Friday's training session.

After training, the players go to the training camp, have dinner and travel to Curitiba, where they do one last activity before the game, at CT Coritiba, on Saturday afternoon (21.08).
