By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inIn the first and only ball training session for Flamengo's starting players before the match against Avaí, this Tuesday (20.07), coach Rogério Lourenço, before the traditional recreational session on the eve of games, led a tactical training session in Gávea. In an activity carried out in the middle of the field, the players did a drill in which the goal of the starting players was to score goals and the goal of the reserves was to pass the midfield.
The starting lineup trained without any surprises. After a long conversation with the players before the ball rolled, Rogério selected the team with Leonardo Moura, Juan, Correa, Welinton, Kleberson, and Petkovic; Vinicius Pacheco and Diego Mauricio. The reserves, which had the starting defense of Ronaldo Angelim and Welinton, also included Rômulo, Fernando, Rodrigo Alvim, Everton Silva, Michael, and Camacho. Other players worked on finishing separately.
The goal of this type of training is to work on possession and playmaking for the starters, as well as to test the main team's defenders, who train with the reserves specifically to prevent the attackers from shooting. After the activity, which lasted about an hour, the players played a lively soccer match. The team will head to their hotel in Barra da Tijuca until the match against Avaí, this Wednesday (July 21.07st), at Maracanã.
