Itu (SP) – On a cold morning in the interior of São Paulo, Flamengo began another day of work in its preseason. This Thursday (July 01.07st), coach Rogério Lourenço opted to lead technical activities. And despite the team having scored nine goals in the first seven rounds of the Brasileirão, the red-and-black commander wants more.
After warming up, the players did a finishing drill on one half of the pitch, under the supervision of Rogério Lourenço and his assistant, Marcelo Buarque. Full-backs, midfielders, and forwards participated in the activity, while the defenders performed physical and technical work under the guidance of Toninho Oliveira and Diogo Linhares on the other half of the pitch. Afterward, everyone gathered together and switched from shooting to heading. The full-backs delivered crosses to three men in the box, who had opportunities to finish.
On field 2, newly signed Val Baiano and Corrêa continued their physical preparation to ensure they were in the same condition as the rest of the squad: they ran laps around the pitch and then did some gym work, as did defender David and forward Paulo Sérgio. Michael continued his training to recover from thigh pain, and midfielder Maldonado was excused from the morning training session to address his dual citizenship in Santos.
Another new addition is supporter Fierro, who played in the World Cup with Chile and will be back in the group on the 7th (Wednesday), in Rio de Janeiro.
