After the draw with Ituano last Wednesday (07.07), coach Rogério Lourenço explained that, despite the result, he saw an improvement in his team. According to him, the team created few opportunities in the first training match of the preseason, against Desportivo Brasil, but in this second match, they managed to get more goals, despite not converting their chances. And this Saturday (10.07), against Olaria, the team seems to have reached the right point: they found the net five times.

The coach couldn't hide his satisfaction with the good result. Rogério echoed the opinions of Willians and Ronaldo Angelim, who praised the introduction of Kleberson and Correa to the team. According to the red-and-black manager, the team that played this Saturday dominated the match, knew how to capitalize on possession and finish.

"The improvement is evident. We had possession of the ball, with quality players who instilled confidence in the boys. Little by little, we'll get into it. It's obvious that the introductions of Kleberson and Correa have improved the quality of the midfield. Furthermore, we have a combination of things that have helped the team improve its performance. I liked the ball work and our tactical approach. It was important to prioritize possession, as well as the fast-paced plays with Vinícius Pacheco and Diego Maurício," he explained.

Next Wednesday, Flamengo will play officially again for the first time since the Brazilian Championship was suspended. The red-and-blacks will face Botafogo at 21 pm at Maracanã. The coach believes the team will perform well in the derby. According to him, the team is on the right track.

"I believe in it. I've managed to put some things into practice, and the players know exactly what they need to do on the field. Everyone knows the demands at Flamengo and the potential each player has for that. We still need some pieces, but today we have a stronger and more consistent Flamengo," he added.
