Starting this Tuesday (29.06), Flamengo coach Rogério Lourenço will work with the team at a training center in Itu, in the interior of São Paulo. So far, he has only one reinforcement working with the other players (Jean), but this fact does not cause concern.
Aware that the club's board is committed to continually improving the squad, Rogério highly praised the leadership's stance, as they are seeking quality in the highly competitive transfer market.
"We know how difficult the market is, and I'm very happy with the players the club has already signed. The players who have arrived are quality players and will help us a lot throughout the Brazilian Championship. I'm satisfied. We have everything we need to grow," predicted Rogério, who highly praised the quality of midfielder Corrêa, the third signing announced by the board.
"Corrêa is a very high-quality midfielder. His characteristics are different from those of the midfielders we have, and this makes the squad stronger. Things are happening, and I'm sure more reinforcements will come."
When asked if the off-field issues could affect the red-and-black squad, the coach dismissed the possibility. According to Rogério, the players are experienced and will handle the turbulence well.
"I know the group is focused on the off-season work. Off-field problems happen to any team, and I don't think this is a cause for concern," he said.
Another point raised by the Flamengo manager is the release of some players only in August. However, this 'problem' will be faced by all teams competing in the Brazilian Championship, and at Flamengo, the feeling is one of confidence.
"Having some reinforcements only in August is normal. All clubs will go through this and we are not worried. We will work with the squad we have, which is strong," he concluded.
