Rogério is satisfied with Fla's performance
Coach approves the entry of players who had not been playing, praises Pet and explains Adriano's situation

Flamengo's mixed team played well this Sunday afternoon at Maracanã, earning points under coach Rogério Lourenço. Some players who hadn't been getting many opportunities, such as Dênis Marques and Petkovic, were able to prove their talent in this Brasileirão opener against São Paulo, and pleased the coach.
Aware that the team didn't perform at its best in the first half, the coach believes the team was somewhat disadvantaged by not having trained together even once. Even so, Rogério praised the players' spirit and their performance in the second half. He believes Michael's introduction was also crucial for a change in the team's attitude.
"What I can say is that the team that took the field didn't train together. That's a tricky thing in football: playing without having trained. It's no excuse, but some things in the first half were partly because of that. There was a distance between the sectors, which even improved in the first half, but in the second half we were able to correct it and the team became more compact," he said.
Reassured about the decision to rest some players, the coach was pleased with what he saw on the field and explained that Vagner Love, Maldonado, Leonardo Moura, Willians and Adriano were left out of the match only after a conversation with the entire coaching staff.
"To put a player on the field, in any situation, he has to be 100%. As I said, the coaching staff and the medical department were consulted, and we are confident in our decisions. Today's weather forecast is accurate; we knew the field could be heavy with rain, and some players felt that a bit at the end," he said.
The coach's praise was given to Serbian Petkovic. Number 43 provided excellent passes, nearly scored an Olympic goal, and showed the coach that he can still be a valuable asset to the team.
"Pet had a good performance. He hadn't been a starter for a while and he moved well. In the first half, he wasn't able to create many plays, but that was because the team was a bit distant. In the second half, he improved, with the team more compact, and he came out more physically," he explained.
Adriano spared
Almost certain to play until Saturday night, Adriano was ultimately rested from the match against São Paulo due to fatigue. He spoke with the team staff and asked to focus on Wednesday's match. This Sunday, unlike the other rested players, the Emperor did not train at Gávea in the morning, having already completed his training last Friday.
"Adriano trained normally on Friday, and several players who were more tired didn't.
