Itu (SP) – O draw against Desportivo Brasil in the training match this Sunday (04.07), in Itu, obviously didn't please coach Rogério Lourenço. The red-and-black manager believes the team must continue working hard to do well in the rest of the Brazilian Championship.

"If you analyze the training match, it's obvious it wasn't good. A lot needs to be improved. We have a lot of young players up front. Diego Maurício is still in training and he's not going to solve the problems. Paulo Sérgio needs more time to get back and get into rhythm. They're not the solution for Flamengo, and that's clear to me," he noted.

Still optimistic about the board's work in signing reinforcements, Rogério guarantees that Flamengo's concern is to assemble a strong squad to compete for the seventh title.

"Flamengo is always looking to build a strong team, but we're still far from having a team similar to the one that won the Brazilian Championship or started the season. We lost all five attackers in the squad and haven't had replacements yet. It's not an easy task, but I remain optimistic that the board is looking to make signings," said the coach, who listed some of the team's problems in the match against Desportivo Brasil.

"The players felt a bit tired, the teamwork was poor, we had passing errors, the pitch was bad, but nothing that can't happen in a first training match," he added.
