Rogério Lourenço is no longer Flamengo's coach. The decision, officially confirmed by Flamengo's executive director of football, Zico, to the club's official website, was only made after a conversation between "Galinho" and the former Flamengo coach. Marcelo Buarque, Rogério's assistant, is also leaving the club. On an interim basis, for this weekend's match against Guarani in Campinas, the current director of youth teams, Toninho Barroso, who previously coached the professional team (1998), will take over the team's management.

Despite Rogério's departure, Zico, who was also a coach before taking over as Flamengo's director, made a point of thanking the professional for all his dedication while he was in charge of the team.

The Galinho de Quintino will hold a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, in Vargem Grande, after the red-black squad's training session.
