Itu (SP) – Coach Rogério Lourenço seems to have already decided on Flamengo's starting lineup to face Botafogo on July 14th, when the Brasileirão resumes. This Friday (July 02.07nd), the coach held the first collective training session of the preseason in Itu and repeated the lineup that was used in a tactical exercise last Wednesday (June 30.06th).

The only change was Paulo Sérgio replacing Vagner Love. The starting lineup consisted of Marcelo Lomba, Leonardo Moura, David, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Antônio, Willians, Camacho, and Petkovic; Vinícius Pacheco and Paulo Sérgio. The reserves trained with Paulo Victor, Everton Silva, Jean, Welinton, and Jorbison; Rômulo, Lenon, Toró, Fernando, and Rodrigo Alvim; Diego Maurício. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw. Toró, who took a knock to the hand, was replaced by Leo Medeiros.

In the second half, Rogério gave some young players from the reserve team a chance: Saba, Galhardo, and Fabrício came on. In the starting lineup, David was replaced by Welinton, Pacheco was substituted by Diego Maurício, and Lenon came on for Antônio. And the reserves scored 1-0 with a fantastic goal from Fabrício, a lobbed shot.

Maldonado and Michael worked out in the gym. Forward Val Baiano was excused to attend to personal matters in Salvador and will return next Monday. Corrêa, meanwhile, trained on the adjacent field with physiologist Paulo Figueiredo.

Renato pays a visit – Midfielder Renato Abreu visited his future teammates on Friday morning. The player, who is expected to join Flamengo on August 1st, went to the Spa Sports Resort, joked around with some of the players, and chatted with the football manager, Isaias Tinoco.

Also noteworthy were two young fans who, atop one of the training center's walls, cheered on the Flamengo players by singing the club's anthem and blowing a horn during the practice session.
