The red-black commander intends to arrive in Itu with a well-prepared team to work on the tactical side

Flamengo's first days of training this offseason are being divided between physical and technical activities. Therefore, coach Rogério Lourenço has not yet led any tactical training sessions. The coaching staff's goal is to ensure the team is well prepared, both in terms of conditioning and teamwork and fundamentals, before working on game situations.

"We're taking advantage of this time to work more on the technical and physical aspects. We want to leave the group well prepared so that, in Itu, when we have a better idea of who we can count on during the season, we can work more on the tactical side and get the team into game rhythm," he said.

Despite this, Rogério makes no secret of the fact that he's already considering Flamengo's lineup for its return to the Brasileirão on July 14th against Botafogo. He still doesn't know, for example, whether he'll have players like David, Maldonado, and Vagner Love, whose contracts are expiring soon.

"Of course, I've thought about putting the team together with and without these players. We'll see. We have time to work. We signed Jean for defense, Renato, who can play either deeper or further forward, and we'll try to do the best for Flamengo in the coming days," explained the coach, who trusts the board's work in signing reinforcements.

"We know this kind of thing can take time, but as I've been saying, it's better to take time and sign quality players than to rush things. Of course, I intend to have a team ready by the offseason, but we'll wait. The board is doing a good job," he concluded.
