Rogério will only define the lineup at the end of the week

In the last few rounds of the Brasileirão, coach Rogério Lourenço has been constantly questioned due to absences. With Jean suspended and David still unregistered, Welinton earned a spot in the defense. With Correa suspended, Antônio competed for the position with Fernando and had a chance to start against Corinthians. But this time, the doubts arise because the coach has all his defense available for the match against Atlético-PR on Sunday (August 22.08) in Curitiba.
David, who was a starter before the World Cup, has already been regularized; Jean, who took over the position in the match against Inter, served a suspension against Ceará and is now eligible to play; and Welinton, who has filled in very well for both players whenever necessary. In other words, the coach will have a "good headache" when it comes to selecting his team next Sunday.
"It's that question every coach likes to have, right? We have four defenders in good form. Angelim with impressive consistency, Jean who arrived working hard, with leadership, Welinton who has a lot of potential and in whom I've believed a lot since the youth team days, and David returning after being out for almost two months," he analyzed.
The coach claims he already has an idea of how he should line up the team and doesn't rule out a formation with three defenders. However, he hints that he will stick with a 4-4-2 formation. Confirmation, however, won't be available until the end of the week, with collective training sessions.
"The team is coming together, and I'm a coach who doesn't really like to change the team's tactical formation. I'm not ruling it out, but I believe I'll go with two center-backs. I already have an idea in my head, but I'll only decide on Thursday or Friday," he added.
