Itu (SP) – There are still 15 days until Flamengo's return to official Brazilian Championship matches against Botafogo on July 14th. However, coach Rogério Lourenço has already started testing lineups for the match. This Wednesday (June 30.06th), the coach led a technical and tactical training session at the Spa Sports Resort and gave the first indications of what the Rubro-Negro will look like in the second half of the year.
The starting lineup consisted of Marcelo Lomba, Léo Moura, David, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Antônio, Willians, Camacho, and Petkovic; Vinícius Pacheco and Vagner Love. Michael, with thigh pain, was rested, as was Maldonado, who continued muscle strengthening work for his left knee injury.
As has been customary this offseason, the activity took place on a reduced-size field, and the coach stopped training several times to give instructions to his players. Rogério's idea was to work on speed and movement in tight spaces.
"We're going to use these days to test the formations we can use in the Brazilian Championship matches. We need to work, get into the swing of things, and decide on the team that will face Botafogo," explained the coach.
Flamengo will remain in Itu until July 7th (Wednesday), and will also play two training matches. One on Sunday, at 15 pm, and the other on the 7th itself, at 9 am. This Wednesday (June 30.06th), the red-blacks will train again in the afternoon, at 15:30 pm.
