On Thursday (July 29.07), coach Rogério Lourenço led a tactical training session before Sunday's (August 01.08) derby against Vasco, at Maracanã. And the coach made two changes to the team that had been starting in the last Brasileirão matches. Defender Jean and forward Val Baiano came in for Welinton and Diego Maurício. Petkovic, with discomfort in his calf, did not train and was replaced by Cristian Borja.

Therefore, the starting lineup trained with Marcelo Lomba, Leonardo Moura, Jean, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Correa, Willians, Kleberson, and Vinicius Pacheco; Cristian Borja and Val Baiano. The reserves included Paulo Victor, Everton Silva, Fabrício, Welinton, and Rodrigo Alvim; Fernando, Lenon, Michael, and Camacho; and Marquinhos and Diego Maurício.

Rogério largely halted training and tested pressure marking situations on a reduced-size pitch. Petkovic worked in the gym, but isn't worried and should start in the derby. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad worked on movement on one side of the pitch.
