The midfielder trained in this position alongside David and Rodrigo Alvim in this Thursday's training session at Ninho do Urubu

Due to his height, midfielder Rômulo, since 2007, when he enjoyed a strong spell at Flamengo under Joel Santana, has been used as a false third center-back. In 2010, he began training with Rogério Lourenço, not only playing this role in defensive positions, but also as a box-to-box defender.

This Thursday (12.08), he trained alongside David and Rodrigo Alvim, forming the reserve team's defense in the collective and made himself available to Rogério Lourenço to act in this way when necessary.

"I feel comfortable, especially because I also play a lot as a defender, even when I'm in midfield, acting as a false third defender. If I need to play like that, I can do well there too," he said.

The 23-year-old has already played 11 matches this season, starting nine of them. Having won numerous titles at both the youth and professional levels, the midfielder was part of the 2009 Brazilian Championship squad and hopes to repeat the feat in 2010.

"I'm already 100%, thank God. I felt some pain, even from the effort itself, because I've been working very hard and, if I'm on the field, I'll do my best to help the team," he concluded.
