Romulo should get a chance on the team

Coach Andrade will have a large number of absences for Sunday's match against Avaí at Ressacada Stadium. In addition to Léo Moura, Juan, Toró, and Kleberson, who remain in the medical department, the Flamengo coach will be without David and Airton, who are suspended, and Fabrício, who injured his ankle in yesterday's match against Cruzeiro. Emerson, who left complaining of thigh pain, will be re-evaluated tomorrow. Petkovic and Everton, who missed Flamengo's match yesterday, trained this afternoon on the field and may return to the team.

Midfielder Rômulo, who was one of Flamengo's standout players during their 2007 Brazilian Championship run, is expected to get a chance as a third-choice center-back. After a stint with Figueirense earlier this year, he returned to Flamengo and is now one of coach Andrade's options. Rômulo said he's ready to shine again for Flamengo.

"I'm feeling great. This opportunity came at the right time. I did a great job with the coaching staff and I'm ready for this match. We're going through a difficult time, but I've been at Flamengo since I was thirteen and I'm used to the pressure. I'm sure we can repeat that 2007 run. The team is good and we'll fight to climb the table."
