A goal of opportunism in Thursday's practice match and a beautiful run in the training game with the reserves on Friday. Rômulo showed, in the U-23 team's training sessions, that he hasn't lost the goal-scoring instinct he had in the youth categories. The midfielder was excited about his goal-scoring form and joked with the Flamengo official website team: "now you have to give me some encouragement". On Sunday (September 19.09th), the team debuts in the competition against Fluminense, with live broadcast on Flamengo.com.br.

Happy to be helping Flamengo, regardless of the category, the player was highly praised by the under-23 team coach, Renato Trindade, and hopes to continue contributing to the team when the championship begins.

"I'm getting back into shape, right? I used to score goals in the youth teams, really. It's also good to be able to help in that sense. My desire is to always be helping Flamengo, no matter how," he said.

At Gávea since he was 13, Rômulo, from Rio Grande do Sul, has collected title after title: Brazilian Championship: 2009, Rio de Janeiro State Championship 2008, Rio de Janeiro State Junior Championship: 2005, 2006, 2007, Otávio Pinto Guimarães Cup: 2006, Cultura Cup 2005, Record Cup 2005, Rio de Janeiro State Youth Championship: 2004, Rio de Janeiro State Children's Championship: 2002 and Rio de Janeiro State Youth Championship: 2000. Now, he hopes to win another one.

"It's going to be a short tournament, with great teams, which will certainly be very competitive. We need to go onto the field, as always, looking for the win and the title. Flamengo always enters a competition to win," he concluded.
