Defender Ronaldo Angelim will be out of the Flamengo squad for the next six weeks. The player arrived at Gávea yesterday afternoon complaining of pain in his right thigh and slight swelling. He sat out training and underwent physical therapy. Later, after a slight movement to sit down to watch his teammates' activity, he felt a pop in his right thigh, causing the area to swell significantly. He was taken to Pasteur Hospital in Méier, where he was diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome, necessitating surgery. After undergoing 40-minute surgery by Dr. José Luiz Runco and his team, Angelim is doing well and will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.
