Following Marcelinho Paraíba, Flamengo unveiled Argentine Rubens Sambueza as the club's newest signing late Friday afternoon at the Rogério Steinberg Auditorium. The player arrived at Clube da Gávea praising the fans and Flamengo's greatness.

"I'm very happy. This jersey has a lot of history. I know Flamengo is one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, with an impressive fan base. I know players like Zico and Romário played here. I'm young, but I know Zico was very important to Flamengo. I hope to make my debut as soon as possible," said the Argentine, who signed a one-year loan deal.

At 24 years old, the former River Plate player stated that he will not feel the pressure of playing for a club as popular as Flamengo.

"Flamengo is a very strong club. It's been through a difficult time recently, but it's recovering. I played for River Plate and I'm used to pressure. Playing here will be a huge pleasure."

Rubens Sambueza said he's in good physical condition, having completed the entire preseason. The player spoke a little about his characteristics to the red-and-black fans.

"I was training at River and I'm doing well. I had a good preseason and I'm active. I'm here to add to the group, and when the coach needs me, I'll be ready. I'm a left-sided midfielder who likes to get forward and shoot from long range."
