Flamengo's strong performances in the State Championship haven't distracted coach Joel Santana and his players from reality. After this morning's recreational training session in Gávea, everyone paid respect to Duque de Caxias, tomorrow's opponent, and especially to veteran striker Viola. "He's a top scorer, and you don't mess with a top scorer," warned coach Joel Santana, certain that Duque de Caxias could be more difficult than Flamengo's first opponents. "They're a team that knows how to exploit counterattacks better. That's why we need to be more careful." Defender Fábio Luciano also highlighted the qualities of Viola, whom he faced while playing for Corinthians and the striker for Vasco. The Flamengo captain, however, made it clear that the team's main concern is maintaining the rhythm they've shown since last year's Brazilian Championship. "Of course, Viola is a worrying player, but we're facing an opponent who wants to win just like we do." We need to keep doing our job, playing with the same seriousness as always and striving for victory. Flamengo has gotten used to playing like this, and we can't change now.
