Rubro-Negros ready for the "final sprint" in the Brazilian Championship

Rest, unity and the will to win are Flamengo's weapons in the fight to return to the top positions.

One game after another, in the middle and at the end of the week, with little time to practice technically and tactically. This is the routine Brazilian clubs are having to get used to in these final months of the 2010 season. Flamengo is no different. Therefore, it's time for the squad's strength to shine, as well as the will to win, so the red-and-black team can climb the table.

"That's the spirit: every game is a decision. Our confidence has increased, we needed some good results, but we know we have to keep that up from now on. It's not easy, but we need to maintain this rhythm, this desire, to get the wins. Flamengo's place is right up there in the table," said defender David.

The defender believes this is a time for unity, rest, and a lot of energy. Aware that the marathon of games isn't easy, he believes the coaching staff is doing a good job by not demanding too much from the players in training between matches.

"It's important to have this period of slightly lighter activities because it's been a tough run of games. The coaching staff opted for this, we've accepted it, and I believe we won't feel the strain of the matches as much," he said.

Captain Leonardo Moura agrees and believes that regenerative activities are essential for the team to perform at its best on the field.

"It's one game after another, and we have to have time to rest, too, otherwise we'll wear ourselves out. The games are tough, very competitive, and we have to do our recovery work well to be in good shape for the matches, which will be very difficult," he concluded.
