Players lament the fact that they were unable to turn the game around against rivals Vasco at the Engenhão stadium.

There was no lack of will and effort, but Flamengo couldn't beat Vasco this Sunday at Engenhão. The Flamengo players valued the result, as they earned another point and maintained their position in the standings, but lamented not being able to turn the game around – a goal they pursued until the very end.
The striker Diego Maurício even had a good chance to score, but his shot was saved by Vasco's goalkeeper, Fernando Prass, in the final part of the second half.
"It was a beautiful play at the end. I'm even sad because I wanted to score, to help the team, but we deserve praise for our effort. Unfortunately, we didn't get the victory, but it ended up being a positive result," he said.
Leo Moura, who wanted a victory to celebrate his 32nd birthday in style, which was on Saturday, believes the team could have indeed secured the three points.
"We were patient, we passed the ball around to manage possession when we had an extra player, we tried, but unfortunately the victory didn't come," he stated.
Coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo explained the changes he made to the team and also analyzed that the team could have had better luck in the game.
"I made some changes after analyzing their team. I put Maldonado as the third center-back and had Renato force plays down the side of the young player who was returning from injury. I told Willians and Léo Moura to alternate plays on the right. We had some opportunities and could have turned it around, but it didn't happen," he added.
