Maldonado and Fierro are on coach Marcelo Bielsa's latest list ahead of La Roja

Coach Marcelo "El Loco" Bielsa will bid farewell to the Chilean national team on the 17th, in a friendly against Uruguay in Santiago. And for that occasion, he will have two Flamengo players in his squad. Maldonado and Fierro have been called up by the coach for the match. Palmeiras' Valdivia, another well-known player in national football, is also on the list. Flamengo fans, however, can rest assured: they won't be missing from the Brasileirão.

Midfielder Maldonado, who will be a starter for Rubro-Negro again this Sunday (07.11), against Atlético Paranaense, believes that this will be another great opportunity to show his football and try to establish himself once again in his country's national team. Excited, he dreams of a place in the 2011 Copa América.

"I believe this is another step towards consolidating myself once again in the national team. Uruguay is a traditional opponent and we will play in the capital of our country. It will be a great opportunity for me, I want to be in the group that will compete in the Copa América next year," he said.

Marcelo Bielsa resigned from his position as head coach of the Chilean national team last Thursday as soon as Jorge Segovia's victory was declared in the elections for president of the country's football federation.
