It was a successful and crucial week for Flamengo with the victory in Barranquilla, and today the team once again showed its character in such a difficult challenge. It was a match that demanded a lot physically from both teams, given their respective objectives. We performed well in a match that was complicated by fatigue," he said.

I have to applaud his professionalism. He had a great game in Barranquilla that caused a lot of wear and tear. But he takes breaks in the match, lets the defense recover. Diego has leadership and organization. He was supposed to play 45 minutes, but at halftime he said he would go all the way, until the end. His integrity and professionalism allowed him to endure the entire game, as he did today.
Weight of the Conmebol South American final
The final is incredibly important for the club because of all the trust they have in our work. Flamengo's goal is to always compete at an international level. It's incredibly important for the fans, who want to see this team continue to excel. We're in this process, and I believe we all deserve the best.
It certainly reassures. The spot is an institutional project, but the Copa Sudamericana is our project, a source of professional pride, that the Copa Sudamericana will remain in Brazil.
Warrior spirit
A few weeks ago, I spoke with the players about this final stretch. We've had some turbulent weeks, losing six players due to fatigue in important matches, which ultimately cost us some points. The players, the club, and the fans truly deserve this direct spot. The players have shown grit, passion, heart, a lot of love for Manto, and a commitment to their work.
