In the press conference preceding the CONMEBOL South American Championship's crucial final, coach Reinaldo Rueda gave a press conference in the Victorino Chermont Press Room after tactical training at Ninho do Urubu. With a full week of preparation and recovery for the players, Rueda praised the coaching staff's work during this process.

"There are two or three players, like Réver and Pará, who have played over 80% of these 83 games this year. We have seven players who have played between 60% and 70% during the season. I have to congratulate the medical department, the physical trainers, and the physiotherapists. We have the entire squad available. The work of the committee, doctors, and physiotherapists is excellent," he praised.

The coach then analyzed the strengths of Wednesday's opponent. Despite needing to win by at least two goals to lift the trophy, calm decision-making and balanced offensive and defensive performances are key, according to the Colombian.

"We're facing a team that makes great transitions and counter-attacks well. We made the mistake of not appreciating the 1-0 lead when we were winning 1-0. We conceded the goal because of emotion. We have to know that if we want something big, we need balance, intelligence, and control of the game," Rueda predicted.

During the last match, Independiente's tactical shifts were evident, a characteristic that created difficulties for the Red-Blacks' defense. The Colombian coach commented on this strength of his opponent, highlighting what will be necessary for the Mais Querido to neutralize these shifts.

"I get a lot of information from Independiente. They have a lot of different formations, playing with inside and outside midfielders. They play in a 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 formation. They have a lot of tactical options, versatility, and unbalancing players. We have to be smart to demonstrate our approach and read the game well. Make good decisions to advance our game."
