After the 1-0 victory over Chapecoense at Arena Condá this Sunday, in the 28th round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo coach Reinaldo Rueda spoke to the press and praised Diego's overcoming and the team's fight to maintain the result. For the coach, Flamengo faced a difficult opponent, but knew how to control the game and take the three points away from home. Now, Rubro-Negro prepares for the match against Bahia, on Thursday (19), at Ilha do Urubu, at 21 pm.

"Diego is a professional with integrity. He went through this situation with the national team, did an excellent job, worked hard, and came back. I thought he would be on the field less. He put in a tremendous effort. Luckily, he scored the winning goal, which strengthens him and the whole team," said the coach about the number 35, who scored the winning goal, the first away goal under the Colombian coach. 

For Rueda, the victory will be crucial to boosting the team's confidence. In seventh place with 43 points, Flamengo is still in contention for the top four and a spot in the 4 Copa Libertadores via the Brazilian Championship. Taking it game by game, the coach is working to accumulate victories to gain momentum and climb the table. 

"There are 11 rounds left, and we're confident we'll do a good job. The Brasileirão is the toughest competition in the world. Normally, there are four top teams per country. Here, everyone is competitive. The goal is the top four. We need two or three consecutive wins to regain confidence," Rueda concluded at the press conference.
