Runco and Luxa clarify changes in the Football Department.
Flamengo's doctor and coach clarify that it was all just a professionalization process.

After some back-and-forth at the beginning of the season regarding improvements to Flamengo's Football Department, the head of the club's medical department, Dr. José Luiz Runco, and the professional team's coach, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, clarified that Flamengo is simply going through a professionalization process, which is normal in all clubs.
Runco, for example, highlighted that the intention is to have professionals connected to professional football dedicate themselves 100% to Flamengo.
"In reality, nothing that was said happened. What occurred was a realignment of personnel. Some joined and others left the Football Department. This doesn't mean these professionals left the club. They will be reassigned to other areas of Flamengo. We will only have professionals who will work full-time for professional football. And this decision didn't come from just one person, nor from Luxemburgo. It was a consensus between the technical, medical, and management teams," Runco clarified, providing further details.
"We brought in João Marcos (physical trainer) to work in the weight room, since Giga (Daniel Jouvin) went to Bayer (Leverkusen). In addition to him, physiotherapist Mario Peixoto, who has worked with us before, and nutritionist Leonardo Acro, who was our intern, have also arrived. He will specifically work with the professional football team. Sílvia, the club's nutritionist, will take care of the entire cafeteria at the training center. She will coordinate everything there."
After all the clarifications, Luxemburgo made a point of stressing again that everything at Flamengo, since he took over the management of the professional football team, is being done in consensus with all the spheres responsible for the department.
"Whoever said that the changes were made by Luxemburgo is lying. Everyone involved, the technical staff, the board, and the medical staff, were responsible," he concluded.
