After watching the red-black team's debut victory at Maracanã, Jorge Sampaoli was officially presented on Monday afternoon (17), at Ninho do Urubu. The 63-year-old Argentine coach gave a press conference and spoke about his expectations regarding the work at the helm of Mais Querido. Check out some excerpts:

With the word, Rodolfo Landim
"I want to talk about our satisfaction in having Sampaoli, who has been a long-standing dream of Flamengo's. We've spoken several times, and this time, both sides were able to reach an agreement. I think Sampaoli embodies Flamengo: the determination, the will to win, the energy, and the style of play he strives to instill in his teams, which is exactly the model I believe the entire Red-Black Nation hopes to see the team play."

Sampaoli's first words
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join this club, which is so institutionally significant. As the president said, I've had a few opportunities to come here. For me, Flamengo was plan A, more than any offer from Europe, deciding to stay here. This time the possibilities coincided, and I'm grateful for the opportunity."

Reason for choosing Flamengo
"Football doesn't give you the choice. It's definitely better to start the cycle, but this time it started like this. When I decided to come to the club, it was because of the quality of the players the team has, allowing me to put into practice what I believe about football."

Sampaoli will lead the first training session this Monday. His debut in charge of Rubro-Negro will be on Wednesday (19) against Ñublense, at 21:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the second round of Group A of the Libertadores.
