Eighth place in the table and a 12-point lead over the leader may be deceiving at first glance, but Flamengo knows it's very close to a spot in the top four. Despite being four places behind fourth-place Botafogo, Flamengo only has a one-point lead over its rival. Therefore, next Sunday (August 4), if Flamengo beats Atlético-PR, they could return to the top of the table. And that's the goal for Rogério Lourenço's team.
"The goal is to reach the top four. We're just one point away from a spot. We have a strong team, and the goal is to form a competitive team, like last year, to fight for the title. We have to focus on the game against Atlético-PR, play well, and start gaining confidence to take off," said supporter Renato.
The number 11, who played with Deivid at various stages of his career, praised the signing of his former teammate and the arrival of young Diogo. According to him, this duo has everything it takes to succeed and help Flamengo achieve its goal of reaching the Copa Libertadores qualifying zone.
"They're two excellent players. I don't know Diogo, but I've played with Deivid. We worked together at Joinville at the beginning of our careers, then met again at Corinthians. I hope they can help us, like the other forwards have been helping, despite the fans giving them a bit of pressure for not scoring goals," analyzed the supporter, who took the opportunity to praise the competition for positions that will be in the red-black attack later in the season.
"We have Val, Leandro, and Pacheco, who are options, and they're all excellent players. Whoever's here is capable of wearing this shirt. Now Rogério has more options, and only Flamengo benefits from this. The responsibility lies with everyone. We're a group, we're all in this together, and if we win, we all win. If we lose, we all lose. That's the spirit," he added.
