In another press conference this Monday (19), left-back Matías Viña was officially presented as Mengão's second reinforcement of the season. The Uruguayan, who will wear the number 17 shirt, said he was eager to debut with the Manto Sagrado. Check out some excerpts:
Flamengo Structure
"It really surprised me. I come from clubs in Europe like Roma and Sassuolo, which are also very organized. I think this is far superior to the training center there; it's very well organized. I was on a team that didn't play many competitions, just Serie A. I came here to play a lot of games. The competition here in Brazilian football is far superior, and that was one of the things that motivated me to come here."
Anxiety to debut
"I have very high expectations. I was looking forward to playing, but unfortunately I couldn't because of the injury. I'm really looking forward to my debut."
About Ayrton Lucas
"He's a very good player. I saw him a lot because when I was on the Uruguayan national team I watched games with Giogian."
Game features
"When I played in England, I had more freedom to attack. But in Italy, I learned a lot tactically too; they work on that a lot there. Here, we don't work on tactics as much."
Red-Black Nation
"I was impressed by the amount of people in the stadium. When I played for Roma, there were a lot of fans in the stands, but at Sassuolo, there weren't many. So that was a motivation to come."
