Without culprits, Flamengo admits its haste against Goiás
With the advantage on the scoreboard, Rubro-negro could have held the game better against the esmeraldinos

The result against Goiás was not good for Flamengo, the team missed good chances to score, but there is no one person to blame for the 2-1 defeat. Accustomed to pressure, the Rubro-negro players admit that they could have been calmer to hold on to the victory or even to have extended the score when the team was winning.
A Brazilian champion with Flamengo last year, Bruno made a point of supporting the youngsters who are moving up to the professional ranks. Going through a difficult period, they, according to the goalkeeper, need support to develop their best football and can't shoulder the blame for a defeat alone.
"I'm not going to sit here and talk about what happened. There's no point in lamenting. And I'm also not going to blame a player who just came up through the youth ranks and is looking for his place. When we win, we all win. If the team loses, we all lose. Unfortunately, today we stumbled," said the Flamengo captain, explaining that the old football maxim still holds true.
"In the Brazilian league, the team that doesn't score ends up conceding. Football is a game of hits and misses, and they ended up taking advantage of certain mistakes to build the victory. It's up to us to stay calm," said Bruno.
Even though he exempted Flamengo's young players from any blame, Bruno highlighted that, like last year, a more experienced team can 'kill the match' more easily.
"The anxiety of extending the lead can sometimes get in the way. Experience makes all the difference in those moments, and in holding the game for longer. We lacked a bit more of that. We needed to play the game the way it was presented, wait a bit for the moment to make a pass and move the ball around a bit more," explained the red-and-black goalkeeper, maintaining his composure for the rest of the competition.
"The championship is very tight, and this is only the seventh round. We really wanted to get back into the top four and return from this break to the top of the table, but it didn't happen. Now we have time to work and even more time to chase things down. We have to keep our heads clear, because we know we have to improve. And we will improve," he promised.
