The Flamengo squad began their preparations this Tuesday morning for Sunday's 18:30 PM derby against Vasco at the Engenhão stadium. After resting on Sunday and Monday, the group returned to the club's training center, Ninho do Urubu, and began their work with a rigorous physical activity session led by trainers Antônio Melo, Diogo Linhares, and Daniel Jouvin.

The group was divided in two – one part trained on the field while the other did activities in the gym. Afterwards, they switched exercises. Notable performances came from the young players Antônio, Saba, and Cristian Borja, who were in the under-23 team and were reintegrated into the main squad. Forward Diogo, who is expected to be available again on Sunday, trained normally.

After the activity, the players head to a hotel in Barra da Tijuca, where they have lunch before the afternoon training session. The team remains in concentration until the end of the weekend.

With 37 points, after the 3-0 victory over Internacional last Saturday, Flamengo occupies thirteenth place in the table and is already in the qualifying zone for the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.
