The reigning Libertadores champion, a contender for the national title, and a fierce rival, Inter, Corinthians, and Vasco are Flamengo's next three opponents in the Brazilian Championship. Supporter Renato, one of the most experienced members of the red-black group, knows that this is a time for unity and dedication in the fight for a place in the 2011 edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
"This isn't a bad run for us. We'll show we can compete with any team in the Brazilian Championship. Facing teams that are higher up, fighting for the title, gives us the chance to show our quality. Nobody here is shaking, nor will they be shy. Big matches are good for achieving big victories," he said.
The first challenge is next Saturday, against Internacional, at Engenhão. A match that promises to be well-balanced and exciting.
