"Seu Djalma" takes advantage of the movement to sell Flamengo products
A Curitiba native with Rio and Flamengo blood, the 56-year-old self-employed man sells flags near the hotel.

The already large crowd of fans outside the hotel where Flamengo is staying in Londrina has grown even more intense in recent days with Ronaldinho's arrival. And "Seu Djalma," 56, a self-employed businessman, took the opportunity to sell Flamengo merchandise, especially flags, near the venue. The tactic has been successful, and the sales figures are good for the vendor.
Born in Curitiba, he spent 20 years in São Gonçalo, but now lives in Brasília and is visiting Londrina. His family, also Flamengo fans, lives on Governador Island in Rio. Happy to see his favorite team up close, Djalma explains how sales are going and talks about the chance to see his idols from across the street.
"It's really cool. So far I've only seen Luxemburgo, because the team hasn't left yet, just Ronaldinho and Thiago who went to do some physical training this morning, but I'll leave it at that. Sales are good. People really want Ronaldinho's shirt, but it hasn't arrived yet (laughs)," he said.
Flamengo fan "Seu Djalma" has many fond memories of his beloved club, but his most cherished one is the 1992 Brazilian Championship final, when the red-and-black team defeated rivals Botafogo to become national champions for the fifth time. Now, he hopes to add another happy chapter to this love story in Sunday's friendly (January 16.01) against América-MG.
"My unforgettable game is the 1992 final, Flamengo vs. Botafogo. But Sunday here will be really cool too. The people selling tickets told me they've already sold over 20 and the expectation is 30. I hope Flamengo wins," he added.
The red-black delegation will still train this Saturday afternoon (15.01), before Sunday's game, at 17 pm, at Estádio do Café. The group returns to Rio on Monday afternoon (17.01).
