Paulo Silas do Prado Pereira arrived at Flamengo at the beginning of the month, with a team undergoing restructuring and the mission of leading the red-and-black team to the top of the table. However, Silas took over the command of the Gávea team at a time of many consecutive games, without time to work, and so far has managed one win, five draws and three losses in nine matches played. The results are not so positive, but Silas believes this is normal and is confident in an improvement.

"All work takes time. We are in a restructuring phase and that costs a lot," he said.

The coach did hear some criticism from the fans who attended the Serra Dourada stadium, but he wasn't fazed by the boos. According to him, this type of behavior is common in Brazilian football.

"Criticism is part of Brazilian culture. After we scored the goal, nobody shouted anything anymore. I'm paid to put together the best team and make the plan. Regarding the criticism, I don't think it's fair at this moment," observed the coach, who believes that with two wins, Flamengo can move away from the relegation zone soon.

"The risk remains. We're not complacent, but we have two games in Rio and we need a winning streak to get out of this uncomfortable zone. Atlético is a strong team, with Renê doing a great job, they've already surprised Palmeiras and it wouldn't be difficult to surprise Cruzeiro there," he concluded.
