Flamengo coach Silas will have the opportunity, for the first time, to lead a tactical training session with the team he believes is the best for the Red-Black team at the moment. This Saturday (September 04.09th), he will lead a closed-door session at Ninho do Urubu, where he is expected to put his convictions into practice, both in terms of lineups and rehearsed plays.
After all, in recent days, the coaching staff's focus has been on conducting so-called regenerative activities with the players who have been playing. Only the reserves and those not on the roster have been working harder. The idea is to protect the players to avoid fatigue and injuries amid a marathon of matches.
"The idea is to regenerate and we brought Saturday afternoon's work to tomorrow to train more closely and work on set pieces and other options. We need to train and we will work hard," said Silas, who is confident of Flamengo's comeback in the competition.
"I don't think the surge is good. I think it's better to have that fat to burn. Some teams can do that now. It's dangerous to always think you're going to make a surge, and sometimes they don't happen. The red light hasn't come on yet, but it could. The mood is good, the team is playing well, and we just need to fix these situations that everyone has already seen to improve," he observed.
In this mission to put Flamengo back on top, he hopes to count on a fundamental weapon: the support of the fans.
"Flamengo fans are the 12th player. When everything is going well and we're winning, it gets much better. This is a pressure that is felt, and after the game, if the result doesn't happen, it's normal to feel pressure, but we hope to have them by our side to seek victories," he added.
