Silas promises an offensive team in the Brasileirão

Coach celebrates progress, promises team to play forward, but remains cautious about Z4

By - in
Coach Silas surprised many when Flamengo took the field last Sunday (19.09), against Fluminense, with a slightly more daring scheme, with two players playing creative roles in the midfield: Kleberson and Renato. And the tendency is that he will continue trying to make the team play more offensively in the coming rounds.

The caution is evident, after all, the team still needs to move further away from the relegation zone, but the coach knows he needs to push the team forward if he wants to fight for the top spots in the table.

"We have to take our eyes off the back and focus on the Libertadores group. That can only be achieved with a win. It's a goal, I've been trying to keep things simple and I can't let up too much and worry about who's behind. I think we've made progress and that's the most important thing," he said.

The coach already predicts a complicated duel with Grêmio, next Wednesday (22.09), in Porto Alegre, but says that Flamengo will play its life in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul in search of the three points.

"Grêmio is in a similar situation to us. They're a very strong team at home, and the Olímpico is a difficult place to play. It's a classic in Brazilian football. We're going to play our hearts out and hope to bring home a victory from Porto Alegre," he concluded.
